So how exactly do we get closest to breast milk?
Our patented protein blend! Which combines:
Research shows it supports baby’s growth and easier digestion, plus it’s high in tryptophan—which has been shown to help babies fall asleep faster.
Alpha-lac
The #1 protein found in breast milk (and we have it at actual breast milk levels).
Research shows it supports gut and immune health—plus, it aids in iron absorption (which is a critical mineral for baby’s development)
Lactoferrin
The #1 protein found in colostrum (AKA, early breast milk or “liquid gold”).
Research shows that whole proteins are full of nutrition, and broken down proteins are easier-to-digest. Together, they make for a nutritious blend that’s also easy on tummies.
Whole & broken down (partially hydrolyzed) proteins
Most formulas use one or the other. Breast milk has both, and so do we.
Our magic ingredient?
All of them. We’re proud to include:
Organic grass-fed whole milk—not skim.
Unlike skim, whole milk is full of natural, healthy fats. Research shows that whole milk fats (such as naturally occurring MFGM) play an important role in baby’s brain development and growth. And we’re the only US-made infant formula to use organic, grass-fed, whole milk.
Organic prebiotics.
We included lactose-derived, prebiotic GOS (i.e. galacto-oligosaccharide) that helps support the growth of good bacteria in baby’s gut. Did you know: GOS also keeps baby’s poops softer—so they’re more like breastfed poops!
Carbs from lactose.
Just like breast milk, our formula uses lactose as its primary carbohydrate, instead of added glucose (think: corn syrup and maltodextrin), which can change the composition of the gut microbiome. No thanks!
Plant-based DHA and ARA.
A key omega-3 fatty acid found in breast milk, research shows DHA supports brain function and eye health. Our algae-sourced DHA (that comes from a super easy-to-pronounce sea plant called schizochytrium) is particularly powerful when paired with ARA. In fact, the relationship between the two has been shown to have a direct impact on baby’s neurodevelopment.

Meet Buttercup!
Buttercup is 4 years old, a proud Pisces, and her favorite food is Merion Kentucky Bluegrass. This gorgeous lady lives at one of the family-run farms that provide us with the organic, grass-fed whole milk we use in our formula.
Meet Clarabelle!
At just 2 years old, Clarabelle is already one of the most well-liked cows on her farm in Sonoma County. A real girls-girl, Clarabelle loves to be groomed and to socialize with her friends. She’ll never say no to grazing (or a nap!) and we’re so grateful for the delicious milk she provides.
Good things come in small batches.
Our small batch process minimizes the time it takes to produce our formula in order to protect the integrity of the (healthy!) fats. Exposing these fats at a high heat for an extended period of time can actually impact the color, taste, texture and smell of the formula. Less time + less heat = small batch goodness.
